Phytosterol Vitamin D3

We followed our Vitamin D3V® Algal D3 with further work into synthetic Vitamin D3 using Plant Phytosterols as a starting material. It was important for us to avoid Soy, due it being an allergen and having links to unsustainable and potentially damaging environmental impacts.

We worked with multiple Universities and Research Partners to optimise efficient and clean methods to produce Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) from sustainable sources. We worked with Pine, Canola and Wild Yam during the validation work.

We are incredibly grateful to the many contributors, including Nottingham Trent University, University of Sheffield, AF Chempharm, High Force Research, Nexam Chemical and Sygnature Discovery.

Vitamin D3V® (Algal D3)

Vitamin D3V® ingredients are produced using non-GMO algae.

The algae (chlorophyta - green macroalgae) are grown and stressed in very carefully-controlled conditions, and extracted using an ultrasound method in order to avoid harsh solvents such as hexane.

Phytosterol Vitamin D3

Vitamin D3V® (Algal D3)

Our Phytosterol D3 ingredients are produced used non-GMO plant Phytosterols. We source Phytosterols from sustainable pine (with Canola and Wild Yam also validated), rather than soy, to avoid allergen risks and address concerns over soy cultivation and links to negative environmental impacts, including deforestation.
